Athletics
We take physical education seriously; it's part of our commitment to educate the whole child. Our comprehensive athletic program helps every student develop essential social and cognitive skills - and a deep respect for the importance of physical health.
Our athletic program includes required physical education classes in grades 1-4, required participation on competitive or intramural teams in grade 5, and required participation in our afternoon interscholastic athletic program in grades 6-9. Each program offers instruction in fundamental skill sets, collaborative work with peers, and hands-on training in sportsmanship, leadership, earnest effort, and focused practice.
Our facilities include the Harlow Athletic Center, home to four basketball courts; a climbing wall; training and weight rooms; and a ski and snowboard storage area. We also offer nine playing fields, a ropes course, a volleyball court, eight tennis courts, and a swimming pool. Our athletic programs also take advantage of local resources, including the New England Sports Center (hockey), Southborough's 9/11 Field (turf), Ward Hill (skiing and snowboarding), the Westborough Tennis Club, St. Mark's Golf Course, and Stony Brook Golf Course.
