1990, A look back...
Some special moments that occurred in 1990:
- Nelson Mandela released from prison after 27 years behind bars
- The Space Shuttle Discovery places the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit.
- The first McDonald's in Moscow, Russia opens.
- Twelve paintings, collectively worth from $100 to $300 million, are stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Massachusetts by 2 thieves posing as police officers.
- Underwater volcano Mount Didicas erupts in the Philippines.
- Iraq invades Kuwait, eventually leading to the Gulf War.
- The Billboard Top Ten songs of the year 1990 were:
