The Fay Girls Varsity Soccer team claimed first place in the Indian Mountain (IMS) Junior School Soccer Tournament on Saturday, November 2! Competing against teams from Indian Mountain, Rumsey Hall, Bement, and Rectory, the Fay girls recorded three wins and two ties. Their impressive performance was anchored by a dominant defense that allowed only two goals across five games.

“The grit and determination from the girls were really impressive,” said Head Coach Andrew Shirley. “By the last game, their legs were dead, but they found an extra gear.” A standout moment was their victory over Rectory, a team that had defeated Fay 4-0 earlier in the season.

For Captain Sofia D. '25, the tournament felt like the culmination of everything they'd practiced throughout the season. “We went into every game on Saturday wanting to win. Everyone was playing their best, communicating well, and making smart passes.” After losing the championship game on a heartbreaking last-minute goal at last year’s tournament, this year’s win is even sweeter for Sofia and the Fay players. “It feels like a comeback that we worked really hard to get!”
