Your Parenting Toolbox: Language and Literacy in the Early Years

Primary School families, please join us for a special workshop, presented by Fay's Speech and Language Specialist Jill Cordon and Reading Specialist Katy Reitman. During the workshop, you will learn how to help your child develop essential literacy skills that will enable them to become readers and writers. You will also learn about typical speech and language development and how these skills form the foundation for reading and writing, the building blocks of academic success. Jill and Katy will share specific strategies for fostering language and literacy skills at home, and you’ll walk away with a “toolbox” of progress checklists, teaching tools, activity ideas, and literacy games to use with your child.

This workshop is recommended for parents and guardians of children under age seven. It will take place on Thursday, April 24, at 7:00 p.m. in the Primary School Dining Commons; it is free to attend and open to the public (spread the word!), but registration is required. Learn more and register by clicking here.
